WEEKEND PERSONAL EQUIPMENT CHECKLIST

We always travel to and from campouts in Class A uniforms.

Dress in layers.
It is recommended that each "Day's" clothing be stored in a zip lock bag.
Bring NO snacks or other food.
Bring no electronics (radios, Gameboys, etc.)
Bring up to $15 for personal money. But you must be responsible for it yourself.
Medications must be turned in with the prescription

NON-CLOTHING ITEMS:
  • Poncho/rain suit
  • Sleeping bag
  • Sleeping pad (closed cell "Insulite" recommended)
  • Eating utensils (minimum: spoon, plastic bowl)
  • Plastic mug w/handle
  • Flashlight/extra batteries
  • Water bottle (full)
  • Sunscreen (even in winter)
  • Small Personal First Aid kit to include:
      Space blanket
  • Baseball cap/sun hat
  • Backpack cover (substitute a garbage bag)
  • Extra plastic bags (for hamper &/or for keeping feet dry)
  • Watch
  • Tent & ground cloth/tarp (if assigned)
  • Pocketknife (only if you have a Totin' Chip)
  • Compass
  • Washcloth & small towel
  • Toothbrush & toothpaste
  • Soap (small liquid container has advantages)
  • Comb
  • Scout book
UNDERCLOTHES:
  • Under pants (3 pr) (polypropylene ideal)
  • Under shirts (3 pr) (polypropylene ideal)
  • Thermal under shirts (2-3 pr)
  • Thermal under pants (2-3 pr)
FEET:
  • 2 pr foot wear (including ones on your feet)
  • 3 Sets of socks (Saturday, Sunday + 1 spare):
    • Polypropylene liners (closest to skin)
    • Wool layer
    • Cotton layer (furthest away from your skin)
SHIRTS & PANTS:
  • Class A uniforms (shirt, long pants, belt, neckerchief, socks) worn on Friday; extra shirt & socks may be needed for camporees, retreats, etc.
  • 2 extra shirts
  • 1 pr spare pants
SLEEPWEAR:
  • Polycotton sweats (sleeping)
  • Knit cap (2nd for sleeping)
  • Wool socks (sleeping)
OUTER WEAR:
  • Wool sweater (2 from October through April)
  • Knit cap (1)
  • Heavy coat (October through April)
  • Windbreaker (in warm weather)
HANDS:
  • Gloves (1 pr minimum, 2 pr ideal)
  • Polypropylene glove liners (optional; but recommended)
OPTIONAL:
  • Fannypack/daypack
  • Swimsuit
  • Camera & Film
  • Notebook/pen
  • Chapstick (Especially in Winter)
  • Insect repellent
  • Sunglasses (Especially with snow)
  • Handkerchief/travel kleenex
  • Money
  • Small trash bag (for tent)
  • Camp mirror
  • Fleece blanket
  • Camp stool
  • Small backup flashlight
  • Rain hat



Each scout is to change every night before going to sleep.
